A man was fatally struck by a vehicle early Tuesday in Hollywood, authorities said.
The crash was reported at 5:51 a.m. in the area of 28th Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard.
Hollywood police spokeswoman Miranda Grossman said the pedestrian, identified as Scott William Philbrook, 49, of Hollywood, was crossing north to south on Hollywood Boulevard on the west side of 28th Avenue.
She said the driver of a Nissan Altima was heading east and made a U-turn at a green light to proceed west.
Philbrook was then struck by the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Grossman said the driver will not face criminal charges.
