Suspected drug dealer offers to throw in additional bag of heroin to undercover officer

A suspected Boynton Beach drug dealer had a great bargain for his client. He'd sell five bags of heroin for $100 and throw in an additional bag for free. There was just one problem. The buyer was an undercover police officer.

Marquis Bonner Jr. was arrested Wednesday.

Boynton Beach police said Bonner agreed to meet with the undercover officer at a Walmart on South Federal Highway. Police said he was arrested after attempting the sale.

According to an arrest report, the undercover officer who signaled the takedown ordered Bonner out of his car and called the cellphone that Bonner had used to negotiate the sale. Police said Bonner's cellphone rang.

Police said they also found marijuana and syringes in Bonner's car.

Bonner, who is a two-time convicted felon with a suspended license, was arrested on drug charges, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and knowingly driving with a suspended license.
