Woman dragged while fighting to recover purse in gas station robbery

A 35-year-old woman was dragged several feet Monday when she tried to prevent a robber from making off with her purse during a gas station robbery, Miami-Dade police said.

The woman was pumping gas at a RaceWay gas station in the 19800 block of Northwest 57th Avenue when an unknown person opened her door and took her purse, police said.

She attempted to get her purse back from the robber and a struggle ensued.

The driver of the getaway car then accelerated,  and dragged the woman, police said. The driver then struck another vehicle before driving away.

The victim was able to recover her purse, but robbers got away with her wallet.

Police are searching for two men who they believe took part in the robbery.

One of the men is said to be between 18 and 25 years old, and was last seen wearing a dark hat, dark shirt and blue shorts. The other man is said to be between 20 and 25 years old and driving a silver Infiniti FX35.

Anyone with more information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
