The Sawgrass Mills mall remains closed for a third day because of flooding.
Sunrise police and Sawgrass Mills spokeswoman Jennifer Valdes said Friday that the outlet mall is still closed.
The parking lot of the Sawgrass Mills mall remained flooded Friday morning, and orange cones blocked the entrance.
"Sawgrass Mills received another inch-and-a-half of rain overnight, which erased the water recession gains of (Wednesday)," mall spokeswoman Jennifer Valdes said Thursday. "The Sawgrass area has received 15 inches of rain in the last three days and 10 inches were within 24 hours."
Valdes said data from the National Weather Service shows that the amount of rainfall was more than any named storm, with the exception of Hurricane Irene in 2005.
The mall first closed Wednesday because of intense flooding from all the recent rainfall.
