Woman’s killer vanishes with victim’s MINI Cooper, Miami detectives say

Detectives with the Miami Police Department homicide unit were looking for a woman's killer on Friday.

They believe her killer likely took her car -- a black MINI Cooper with a white top and Florida tag EAC Z50. They were asking for the public's help. 

Michelle Aranda worked for Waste Management as an environmental solution specialist. The 28-year-old woman had an adventurous spirit.

Records show that she got a pilot's license last year. Her Facebook account shows she was a student at the Flying Academy at the Kendall-Tamiami Executive Airport. 

The University of North Texas graduate moved from Dallas to Miami about three years ago, according to her LinkedIn account.  She lived at the Serenity on the River Apartments in Miami's Allapattah neighborhood and shared sunset photos of her view of the water.

After her mother asked Miami police officers to check up on her, they found her dead inside her apartment on Thursday. Her body was decomposing and neighbors said they hadn't seen her in about two weeks.
