Senate Committee on Indian Affairs to Hold Business Meeting & Legislative Hearing

WASHINGTON — On Wednesday, May 10 at 2:30 PM EDT, the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs (SCIA) will hold a business meeting to consider:

·         S. 458, the Native Educator Support and Training Act (NEST Act); and

·         S. 691, Thomasina E. Jordan Indian Tribes of Virginia Federal Recognition Act of 2017.

The business meeting with be immediately followed by a committee legislative hearing to receive testimony on the following bills:

·         S. 772, the AMBER Alert in Indian Country Act of 2017; and

·         S. 825, the Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium Land Transfer Act of 2017.
