A Pompano Beach high school was briefly placed on lockdown Friday morning after a boy was cut by a knife during a feud with another student, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.
BSO spokeswoman Joy Oglesby said deputies were called shortly after 11:30 a.m. to a fight at Blanche Ely High School.
Oglesby said a boy and a girl were involved in a feud that started on social media. She said the girl walked toward the boy with a knife in her hand, and the boy accidentally cut himself as he grabbed her wrist.
The school was placed on lockdown for about 10 minutes while deputies searched for the knife.
Oglesby said a knife was found, and the girl faces an aggravated assault charge.
The boy suffered a minor injury from the cut. Oglesby said it was a scrape that didn't draw blood.
