No charges to be filed after baby dies at Broward County home

No charges are expected to be filed after a 2-month-old baby was found dead Monday in unincorporated Broward County.

BSO spokeswoman Gina Carter said the infant was found dead in a home at 2791 NW 15th Court just after 10 a.m.

Homicide detectives were called to the home and after several hours determined no crime had been committed.

Local 10 News reporter Glenna Milberg was told at the scene that the baby was found on a bed. She said neighbors said that the father accidentally fell asleep on the baby, suffocating the infant.

Authorities said there are several other children who live at the home. A case worker with BSO's Child Protective Investigations Section was at the home Monday afternoon speaking with the family.
