Man hospitalized after crash involving rescue truck in Hialeah Gardens

One person was taken to a hospital after an accident involving a rescue truck, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel said.

The crash happened on NW 122nd Street near NW 92nd Avenue in Hialeah Gardens.

According to witnesses, a Ford Expedition was heading east on NW 122nd Street when the fire rescue truck pulled out of a strip mall, hitting the SUV.

Witnesses said it appeared the SUV was going very fast and may not have had its lights on when the collision happened.

Fire Rescue members inside the rescue truck were not injured and immediately assisted the SUV driver, who was unconscious. He would eventually be taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital as a trauma alert.

The investigation is ongoing
