A driver crashed into a Santa Clara pool and he’s blaming the accident on a lack of sleep, according to police.
The crash happened yesterday when the driver says he dozed off, crossing a sidewalk, going through two fences and then hitting the pool.
"The person went through two fences before landing in a pool, that's kind of shocking," neighbor Vickie Fairchild, told ABC affiliate KGO.
After the crash, the 19-year-old got out of the car unharmed, police say.
The driver told KGO, he took too wide of a turn, fell asleep and crashed.
Santa Clara police said the 19-year-old passed all field sobriety tests.
As for the car, it was removed from the pool using a crane.
