South Florida middle school teacher wanted on child porn charges

A South Florida school teacher is wanted by the FBI on federal child pornography charges.

FBI spokesman Jim Marshall said Wednesday that a federal arrest warrant has been issued for Corey Perry.

Marshall said Perry, 33, of West Palm Beach, was a teacher at Howell L. Watkins Middle School in Palm Beach Gardens. He said Perry was last seen Friday about 2 p.m. in West Palm Beach.

"He does have access to children," FBI Special Agent Michael Leverock told Local 10 News. "That is a fact."

Leverock said the FBI wants to speak with anyone who may have had contact with Perry.

"It could have been other schools locally," Leveorck said. "It could have been other schools nationally, and even in other countries."

Palm Beach County Superintendent Robert Avossa said he was "disgusted" to learn of the allegations.

"This individual has embarrassed his school, his community and his entire profession by harming the most important thing entrusted to him -- our students," Avossa said.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the FBI office in South Florida at 754-703-2000.
