Pokagon Potawatomi’s Four Winds Casino Bus Driver Dead from Crash

NEW BUFFALO — A 65-year-old driver of a Four Winds Casino bus was pronounced dead after crashing into a tree Thursday morning near the casino. The driver has been identified as Edmund Hillman of New Buffalo, Michigan.

Hillman was the only occupant of the bus when it hit a tree by the back entrance to the casino about 10:00 a.m., Thursday.

Weather nor mechanical failure do not appear to be factors in the crash. It is not known if a medical condition may have played a part in the crash.

The accident is under investigation by law enforcement.

The Four Winds Casino is owned by the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians, based in Dowagiac, Michigan.
