SANTA FE — Families are invited to participate in art-making activities that highlight contemporary Native arts. The IAIA Museum of Contemporary Native Arts welcomes families with children of all ages. Programs are geared towards K – 5 grade levels.
The annual family day event will be celebrated at the Allan Houser Art Park, located at 108 Cathedral Place in Santa Fe on Saturday, May 21 from 12 noon to 3:00 p.m.
Noon – 2 p.m.
Join Native artists Nani Chacon (Navajo) and Eliza Naranjo Morse (Santa Clara Pueblo) for a community mural and Jacob Meders (Mechoopda) for a silk screened recycled t-shirt making workshop. Bring in your t-shirt to be printed on that day!
2 – 3 p.m.
Snack, Sing-a-long and Story Telling with Emmett “Shkeme” Garcia, from the Pueblos of Tamaya (Santa Ana) and Walatowa (Jemez).
This event is free for families.
