Raymond (Jack) Gene Jr. 1953-2016

jack3Raymond Gene Jr.  a.k.a. Jack born September 14, 1953 in Winslow, Arizona passed March 8, 2016 in Phoenix,Az. Jack was an extra-ordinary and humble artist.  He died living his passion completing The Longest Walk. He walked The Longest Walk 3 from Flagstaff to Washington DC and then he walked from La Jolla to Arizona on the Longest Walk 5 completing his walk from Pacific to Atlantic.He was laid to rest in Winslow, Arizona and a feast was spread in his memory by his sister, Barbra Gene, at her home 30 miles north of Winslow on the Navajo Nation.

Jack’s art was known and admired all over the world. Jack’s Grandfather a Diné Medicine Man taught Jack  how to see the power in all living things. Jack learned the ways of the hogan and sand painting, he brought there magic into his art. Jack’s vision is a healing vision, through laughter, color, texture, shape and spirit Raymond (Jack) Gene Jr. even beyond his death, heals the world with beauty and love.
