NMPolitics.net continues to grow, but we need your help!

During the 2016 legislative session NMPolitics.net had some of its best traffic yet — more than 63,000 page views in 30 days.

We’re still struggling to pay our bills every month. But we experimented with investing money to publish The Santa Fe New Mexican’s legislative coverage because we viewed it as a unique opportunity. It gave NMPolitics.net’s readers access to hard-hitting and insightful reporting on the session and allowed us to focus on some other issues — including a New Mexico rancher joining the occupation of a national wildlife refuge in Oregon and the death of former Las Cruces City Councilor Miguel Silva. We also devoted some time during the session to commentary you weren’t going to find anywhere else.

And NMPolitics.net has been more frequently publishing in-depth articles from sources including ProPublica, The Center for Public Integrity, the Texas Tribune and Frontera NorteSur.

The result? NMPolitics.net is growing into a news website full of insightful articles and commentaries about local, state, national and even international political and government issues.

I’m pleased with NMPolitics.net’s growth in readership and the level of discourse our posts are sparking. Judging from the increased traffic to our website and the high level of engagement on social media, it appears many of you are too.

I intend to keep up this pace — but to do so I need your help! NMPolitics.net must build a larger base of monthly sustainers — donors who sign up to automatically give $5, $10, $20, $50 or another amount each month. We also need one-time donations. Any amount helps!

You can make a one-time donation or sign up to make monthly contributions here.

Please, give what you can afford, even if it’s only a few bucks. American journalism has been decimated in recent years. Funding reporting isn’t easy.

NMPolitics.net can deliver the news and information you need and facilitate productive discussions, but only with your help. Donate today!

Gracias!
