OKLAHOMA CITY— The Native Explorers Program is now accepting applications for 2016.
Applications are available to all eligible Native American high-school students.
The deadline to apply is March 15, 2016.
The Native Explorers program provides out-of-the classroom, hands-on experiences to strengthen students’ knowledge of science, medicine and native cultures.
Participants of the program work side-by-side with native research scientists from OSU-CHS, the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History and other natural history museums. Participants learn about vertebrate paleontology and natural history.
The objective of this program is to promote and increase the number of Native Americans choosing careers in science and medicine.
By participating in this program, students are exposed to careers in graduate and medical programs, federal programs and state agencies.
Students interested in applying for this program, or for additional information, contact the Native Explorers Foundation at www.nativeexplorers.org/apply-today, or contact Kresta Lofton, at (580) 436-2603, ext. 60906.
