AIR FORCE HELICOPTER CRASHES IN AFGHANISTAN: NO SURVIVORS

BBSNews - 2003-03-23 -- MACDILL AFB, TAMPA - A U.S. Air Force HH-60 Blackhawk helicopter crashed 18 miles north of Ghazni, Afghanistan, at approximately 11:20 am (EST) while conducting a medical evacuation mission. The crash was not the result of enemy action.

HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopters. The Pave Hawk is a twin-engine medium-lift helicopter operated by the Air Force Special Operations Command, a component of the U.S. Special Operations Command.The aircraft had six personnel on board and there were no survivors. The names are being held pending next-of-kin.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.
