BBSNews November 18, 2007 -- New York (HRW) Member states attending the 13th ASEAN summit should establish specific deadlines to implement a binding regional human rights mechanism under the ASEAN Charter, Human Rights Watch said in a letter to the ASEAN secretary-general, Ong Keng Yong.
Human Rights Watch also urged ASEAN to agree on measures to protect the rights of Burmese people and send a clear message to the Burmese junta to end abuses.
