Massachusetts Gay Marriage First Anniversary

May 17th, 2005, is the first anniversary of the historic Goodridge v. Massachusetts Department of Health decision allowing same-sex couples in the state of Massachusetts to legally marry.

It's turned out that the biggest change to daily life in Massachusetts is the dating scene where gay people are now feeling some of the pressures that straight people do in terms of when is it right to make the decision and get married?

Other than that, the law has gained growing acceptance in Massachusetts, the public at large is unaffected and it's business as usual.

It is becoming increasingly clear except to a few of the most hard-headed extremists, that gay marriage is simply a non-issue. And certainly not worthy of amending the US Constitution to enshrine discrimination against a class of people over.
