Hurricane Irma didn’t stop burglars from breaking into stores in Sunrise

Hurricane Irma didn't stop children, teenagers and adults from rushing to steal in Sunrise Sunday.

The burglars broke through plywood, shutters and glass to take sneakers from Simons Sportswear and Footlocker along Powerline Road.

Security alarms weren't going off. Some of the stores were among the 1.5 million people across Florida without power.

During the severe weather, police officers weren't allowed to patrol the streets.
