A flash flood warning was issued Monday for parts of Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
The warning is in effect until 9 p.m. in northeastern Miami-Dade and southeastern Broward.
By 6:45 p.m., Doppler radar and automated rain gauges had reported 4 to 6 inches of rainfall from thunderstorms in the vicinity of North Perry Airport, with numerous road closures also reported.
An additional 1 to 2 inches of rainfall will be possible as the warned areas continue to experience thunderstorms.
Some locations expected to experience flooding include Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, Miramar, Davie and Miami Gardens.
Drivers are urged to be cautious as some roadways may become impassable.
