PHOENIX – Senator John McCain (R-Arizona) has been diagnozed with a brain tumor.  The 80-year-old senator underwent cranial surgery last Friday to remove a blood clot. The brain tumor was discovered through a biospy.

. He is reviewing treatment options with his family. Treatment could include a combination of chemotherapy and radiation, according to a statement from the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix.

“The Senator and his family are reviewing further treatment options with his Mayo Clinic care team. Treatment options may include a combination of chemotherapy and radiation,” said the statement. “The Senator’s doctors say he is recovering from his surgery ‘amazingly well’ and his underlying health is excellent.”
