Sausage saga continues after meat mysteriously falls onto family’s roof

The sausage surprise saga endured by the Adair family of Deerfield Beach has got people talking.

It was on July 15 that 15 pounds of  Italian sausage and pork chops make it to their roof at 4 a.m.

The story catapulted itself all the way to central Florida where the owner of Fussell’s Frozen Food confirmed that he packed the sausage and sent it to William Land Service in  Central Florida back in January for the owner’s personal use.

"It had to come from his freezer," Jimmy Fussell said.

But when Local 10 News reached out to Williams Land Service, a spokesperson said that they aren’t sure how the meat ended up on the Adair family’s roof and have dubbed the incident the "mysterious Miami meat shower."

The full statement reads as follows: "Williams Land Service has been providing quality land management options, in the South East Region, for over 30 years. We have not yet ventured into air mailing meat, but if we do, that will be the day pigs fly. However, we are dedicated to providing great service beyond our customers.

"We have tracked down the source of the Mysterious Miami Meat Shower. Williams Land Service, Inc. in Myakka City, FL, requested the meat delivery from Fussell's Frozen Food, Inc. We strive, every day, to meet the expectations of our customers, and if needed, we will solve some mysteries too.I hope this brings closer to the great Miami Meat Shower Mystery."

Local 10 News viewers did try to crack the mystery.

Some suggested that the Federal Aviation Administration be contacted about the meat. One person guessed that it was all part of a prank, that someone wanted to see how far they could through a bag of meat and it ended up on the roof.

Another viewer blamed the  hotdog cartoon character from Snapchat.

Even with the predictions, the mystery about the falling meat continues.

Whether it fell from the sky, was dropped by a tornado or shot from a slingshot, one thing is for sure, it catapulted this family in the spotlight.

The Adair family is set to appear on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" at 11:35 p.m. Wednesday.
