Police investigate killing of man in Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale police are investigating the killing of a man who is a part-time resident of the city, authorities said.

Police said Guy Eargle Jr., 68, who lives part-time in Fort Lauderdale and part-time in Atlanta, was found dead at about 6:15 p.m. Monday at a home at 429 SE 17th Ave.

Friends of the victim told Local 10 News reporter Derek Shore that Eargle was a businessman and a multi-millionaire. 

Detectives have not publicly disclosed the manner in which the victim was killed. 

A motive is unknown. 

Police said the homicide investigation and circumstances surrounding the killing are still being determined.
