Florida deputy saves man from burning SUV

A Florida deputy saved an unconscious man from a burning SUV that crashed into a large tree Wednesday night near Gainesville.

Alachua County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Adam Gargulak found the man unconscious inside the SUV.

Homeowners inside the Wilds Plantation neighborhood reported a high-speed collision involving an SUV that hit a large tree.

By the time Gargulak arrived at the scene, the vehicle was on fire. Gargulak tried to put out the flames with his fire extinguisher, but they began to spread.

Gargulak freed the man from his seat belt and helped him regain consciousness.

"I was just doing my job," Gargulak said.
