Marko Jovicic is accused of beating up two men. Miami Beach police officers said he first punched one man. When he fell to the ground, Jovicic began to elbow and kick him in the face and body, according to police officers.
Jovicic caused the man a laceration on the right side of his head, numerous abrasions on his face and a possible fractured cheekbone, according to police officers. When another man tried to intervene, witnesses told police officers that Jovicic, 26, knocked him out.
During the beating, Jovicic's friend Aleksandar Ilic ran to a white Jeep Wrangler and pulled out a gun. The two women who were with the injured men said they were terrified.
"I got something for you," Ilic shouted, according to Miami Beach police officers.
Ilic, 35, shot at the ground. The bullet fragments injured the two women's legs. One of them begged Ilic to stop and told him they didn't have guns and there was no need to shoot anyone.
He shouted, "Don't touch me."
They were both booked at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center about 9:30 p.m. Jovicic faces two counts of aggravated battery. Ilic faces aggravated assault and committing a felony with a firearm.
