Man found dead on Fourth of July in Fort Lauderdale

A 42-year-old man was found dead early Tuesday in Fort Lauderdale, authorities said.

Police said they were called about 8:30 a.m. to the area of 2009 NW 21st Ave.

Detectives believe that the victim, identified as Patrick Tranchida, 42, was shot sometime during the night. 

Police said the investigation is ongoing and they do not yet know the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
