Twelve people were hurt Monday after a small SUV crashed into the back of a Miami-Dade Transit bus, Miami Fire Rescue spokesman Ignatius Carroll said.
A grandmother, grandfather, father and his 12-year-old daughter were inside the SUV when the crash took place at about 5:30 p.m. near Northwest 79th Street and Eighth Avenue.
Two of those people were taken to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital and two others were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, Carroll said.
Of the nearly 38 people on the bus, eight were taken to area hospitals for treatment, Carroll said. The driver was not among those taken for treatment.
