Heavy rain, flooding strand South Florida drivers, travelers

Heavy rain and flooding was reported throughout South Florida Friday morning, stranding some people at the airports and on the roads.

Local 10 News reporter Michael Seiden was in the area of Northwest 62nd Avenue and Seventh Street in Miami-Dade County, where some drivers abandoned their vehicles in the roadways because of the rising water.

Seiden said flooding in the area was about ankle-deep, and authorities have closed off the roads.

Miami International Airport officials said the rainy weather is also mildly affecting airport operations, as 32 flights have been delayed because of weather conditions.
