Miami motorcyclist dies in Dania Beach crash

A 30-year-old Miami man died in a motorcycle crash this Memorial Day weekend, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said Monday.

The collision took place just before 1 p.m. Sunday, near Sheridan Street in Dania Beach.

Kabeer Arora has been identified as the victim.

Arora was riding a 2014 Ducati westbound on East Sheridan Street in the right lane.

Ophelia Williams, 79, was driving a 2016 Ford Fusion eastbound on East Sheridan Street in the left lane, officials said. Williams, of Hollywood, was preparing to turn into the shopping center on the north side of the roadway. Kabeer’s motorcycle struck Williams’ car in the right lane, according to a news release from Traffic Homicide Investigation Unit detectives.

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue pronounced Kabeer dead at 1:13 p.m., before he could be taken to a hospital.

Detectives said it appears the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed, which may have contributed to the crash.
