Three children and one adult were injured Sunday morning during a boat fire at Black Point Marina, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said.
The boat caught on fire as it was pulling into the marina, firefighters said. An explosion was also heard in the area.
Capt. Doug Keller said the boat did not catch on fire, but that a vapor explosion took place. This is when vapors from an ignitable liquid builds up and spark catches in the engine compartment.
All four sustained burns, firefighters said.
Two of the injured children were taken to Ryder Trauma Center. One of the children and an adult were taken to Kendall Regional Medical Center.
Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
