Police are investigating after a body was found Thursday morning in a Miami apartment.
Miami police were called about 6 a.m. to conduct a welfare check on a woman at an apartment at 1740 NW North River Drive.
When officers arrived, they found a decomposing body in an apartment on the fourth floor of the building.
"Detectives are not suspecting foul play at this very moment. But like I said, there's a lot of things that we must factor in before we can move a step further," Miami police spokeswoman Kenia Fallat said.
She said the death is considered "unclassified" until the Miami-Dade County medical examiner's office determines a cause of death.
