Grass fire burns 50 acres in southwest Miami-Dade

A grass fire in southwest Miami-Dade has burned 50 acres, authorities said Thursday.

The fire is reported in the area of Southwest 157th Avenue and 30th Street.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials said the fire is 20 percent contained.

Authorities warn residents in the area to avoid inhaling the smoke by staying indoors.

Four units are currently working to extinguish the flames.
