WASHINGTON – The Republican-controlled House of Representatives voted Thursday afternoon to repeal the Affordable Care Act–commonly referred to as Obamacare–by a vote of 216-211. The measure passed by one vote.
The vote was viewed as a win for House Speaker Paul Ryan, who until yesterday could not garner enough votes to the repeal of Obamacare.
Political analysts predict the bill will be “dead on arrival” in the U.S. Senate.
Democrats shouted out “shame.” after the vote.
