Man accused of grabbing girl’s buttocks at Dolphin Mall

A 31-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after he grabbed a girl's buttocks at Dolphin Mall, authorities said.

Sweetwater police said the man, identified as Kevin McDonald, ran away after the incident, but was taken into custody shortly after 4 p.m. inside the Bass Pro Shop.

According to police, McDonald is a "habitual groper," who was recently released from jail in Broward County for a similar offense.

The victim is 14 years old.

McDonald faces a battery charge.

Records show that McDonald was found mentally incompetent after Davie police arrested him on charges of traveling to meet a minor, using a computer to exploit a child and transmitting child pornography.

He was placed on conditional release on Jan. 5 and has release review hearings every month to determine his competency.

His next competency hearing is scheduled for April 25.

The incident at Dolphin Mall came less than a week after three people were arrested when one of them was stabbed during a fight at the mall.
