A large oak tree fell onto a vehicle in Northwest Miami-Dade on Monday, but luckily the driver was able to avoid a major wreck, firefighters said.
The incident took place near Northwest 22nd Avenue and Northwest 54th Street when the branches of the tree fell and hit the hood of the vehicle, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue reports.
Although the vehicle was struck, the driver and her grandson were unharmed.
Firefighters said the crash is a reminder to drivers to avoid distractions while driving in order to avoid crashes.
"In this case, the driver was aware of her surroundings and was able to stop just in time to prevent the tree from crushing the vehicle," a media release from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said.
