Palm Beach deputies arrest 6 trying to block presidential motorcade

Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested six people who were accused of trying to block a presidential motorcade on Thursday and Friday.

The motorcade a protester tried to block on Friday was traveling from Bak Middle School of the Arts in West Palm Beach, where Jinping's wife, Peng Liyuan, and first lady Melania Trump met with students, to Mar-a-Lago .

Chun Yan Wang "jumped into the middle of the road," sheriff's spokeswoman Teri Barbera told the Palm Beach Post. Deputies had to run into the road to move Chun Yan Wang out of the way, according to Barbera.

The arrest was the sixth in two days involving the visits of President Donald Trump and Jinping, who is staying in nearby Manalapan.

Five others were arrested on Thursday after they tried to block the Chinese president's motorcade as it arrived at the Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa.

Authorities identified the five as Kuo Jia, 34, Jianbin Juan, 49, Yong Tian Ma, 52, Weixue Zhang, 63, and Haihan Yang, 33. They face charges of resisting arrest without violence and obstruction of a roadway.

Yan Wang, 53, faces a charge of obstruction of a roadway.
