Worker falls from scaffolding in Fort Lauderdale

A worker fell from scaffolding Friday morning outside a building in Fort Lauderdale, authorities said.

A Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue representative told Local 10 News that the worker fell about 30 feet while working outside a building at 1180 N. Federal Highway that is under construction.

The accident happened just before 9:30 a.m.

Authorities said the worker was taken as a trauma alert to Broward Health Medical Center.

No other details were immediately released.

The incident comes just a day after another worker fell from scaffolding outside a luxury condominium in Miami Beach.

That worker was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.

Another worker was left dangling by a harness March 24 after the scaffolding he was on collapsed outside the Grand Bay Club in Key Biscayne.

That man, identified as Marcus Perdomo, 63, wasn't injured, but was treated for dehydration.
