BISMARCK, NORTH DAKOTA – The costs keep mounting for the militarized police tactics at Standing Rock. Since August 10, 2016, North Dakota law enforcement, including the Morton County Sheriff Department have maintained strong presence to against water protectors at Standing Rock, who oppose Dakota Access pipeline.
As of Monday, $22.3 million has been spent to respond to the water protectors.
On Monday, January 9, 2017, the Morton County Sherriff’s Department released a snapshot of the costs for their action since August 10, 2016:
