ALCATRAZ ISLAND – While thousands of American Indian and allied water protectors were 1,600 miles at Standing Rock, hundreds of American Indians gathered on Alcatraz Island–“The Rock”– for the annual “Indigenous Peoples Sunrise Ceremony.”

A prayers was sent up to the Creator for all the water protectors at Standing Rock by Lenny Foster (Dine’). Among the crowd signs were present to show solidarity with the thousands of water protectors at Standing Rock. No DAPL sign shows solidarity on Alcatraz Island.
