Thanksgiving Celebration set Nov. 19-20
Enjoy the beginning of the holiday season with family and friends during the Chickasaw Cultural Center Thanksgiving Celebration Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 19-20.
Activities include guided tours of the Traditional Village, stomp dance demonstrations, a Native American miniature ornament class and a children’s Christmas ornament workshop.
The cultural center will have holiday decorations displayed throughout the campus along with the Festival of Trees presented in the Aaittafama’ Room. This year, trees are decorated to the theme of “Santa’s Workshop.”
The Thanksgiving Celebration is open the public at no charge.
In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, the Chickasaw Cultural Center will close at noon Wednesday, Nov. 23, and remain closed through Friday, Nov. 25. The cultural center will reopen Saturday, Nov. 26, and resume regular business hours.
Celebration of Lights kicks off Nov. 26
Dazzling holiday lights will be illuminated with the help of Santa during the Celebration of Lights beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at the Chickasaw Cultural Center.
Dozens of displays featuring traditional Christmas themes and Chickasaw greetings are included in the impressive light display.
The drive-thru display will be open to the public at no charge every evening from 6-9 p.m. beginning Saturday, Nov. 26, through Saturday, Dec. 31.
