MANDAN, NORTH DAKOTA – Democracy Now! journalist Amy Goodman faces arrest for criminal trepassing on the Dakota Access pipeline. The charge is a misdemeanor.
Goodman is the host and executive producer for Democracy Now!
She and her crew captured security guards for Dakota Access turning attack dogs and pepper spray on American Indian land protectors near the Standing Rock Indian Reservation, close to Cannon Ball, North Dakota on Saturday, September 3, 2016.
“This is an unacceptable violation of freedom of the press,” said Amy Goodman in a statement. “I was doing my job by covering pipeline guards unleashing dogs and pepper spray on Native American protesters.”

To date there have been 38 arrests associated with the Standing Rock’s Water is Life fight.
