LONGMONT, COLORADO — Martha King, named 2016″ Best Lawyer in Native American Law” by U.S. News and World Report, recently established Martha L. King & Associates, P.C. in order to better serve Native American tribes and individuals.
King, a member of the Kotzebue IRA Tribe in northwest Alaska, understands and recognizes firsthand the importance of protecting native american and indigenous peoples rights to land resources, self-government, consent, and fairness. King has been working on federal Indian law and sovereignty issues since 1997, most recently with Fredericks Peebles & Morgan LLP in Louisville, Colorado, where she successfully represented a whistleblower who, at great personal sacrifice, took down widespread corruption occurring on the Rocky Boy Indian Reservation. King’s other areas include Civil Litigation, Federal Indian Law, Tribal Law and Government Law. The firm often works with Native American Tribes, Tribal Leadership, and Tribal individuals.
