PHILADELPHIA — Indian Country will be watching tonight as one of its favorite’s, Bronson Koenig, a tribal citizen of the Ho Chunk Nation in Wisconsin, plays in his third NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament Sweet Sixteen basketball game at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

No. 24 Koenig and his fellow Wisconsin Badgers will play against the Norte Dame Fighting Irish at approximately 7:27 p.m. – ET; 6:27 p.m. – CT. The game will be televised on TBS. Check your television listings in your area.

This past Sunday night, Koenig hit a pair of 3-pointers in the final 14 seconds, including the fallaway game winner in the corner just before the buzzer, as the No. 7 seed Wisconsin Badgers beat the No. 2 seed Xavier Musketeers 66-63.

The 6’4” junior has become a leader on the Badgers team and commits his time away from school and basketball to providing inspirational talks to Native youth.

“Well, Bronson is at it again and it looks like his talent is only getting better. This is not good news for the other teams, but not everyone has a nation and the rest of Indian Country behind them,” says former Ho Chunk Tribal Chairman Jon Greender.” We are very proud of him!”

Koenig is the son of Ethel Funmaker, who is employed in the Ho Chunk Nation’s IT department. Funmaker attends every game her talented son plays.
