ADA, OKLAHOMA – The Chickasaw Nation will formally celebrate the upcoming WomenHeart support groups with a kickoff event slated Thursday, Feb. 18, from 2-3 p.m. at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center (CNMC).
It is part of the tribe’s continuing effort to promote healthy living and healthy lifestyles among Native Americans and non-Native Americans.
WomenHeart is a support group for women who suffer from heart disease. The group sessions are open to all women. Groups will meet on the third Thursday of each month beginning in March.
A schedule of the support groups will be released soon to women in the community. Family members are welcome to attend Thursday’s launch but support group meetings are limited to female family members.
The kickoff celebration will be at the Town Center at the CNMC. To find the location, come to the main hospital entrance and it will be held in the large foyer east of the information desk. Chickasaw Nation employees will be on hand to help those find the location.
